On Saturday July 23 the unforgettable raspy voice of today's soul generation, Amy Winehouse, died out and rock & roll heaven's gate opened once again for an icon preceded by Brian Jones from The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain amongst others we will miss greatly and grieve forever for.
The Stupid Club or The 27 Club is a group of the musical untouchables who coincidentally died at the age of 27 and in the prime of life, and which attracted most of the public attention shortly after the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994 when his mother, Wendy O'Connor, told the press: "Now he's gone and joined that stupid club... I told him not to join that stupid club."
To be perfectly honest, I would rather see the mainstream nobodies go but they unfortunately do not do shit loads of drugs. The way I see it, unless they pick up the nasty habit very soon, we will end up plagued by hopeless eurotrash sellouts hence on the verge of musical apocalypse. Thus, I opt for legalization of hard drugs and BOGOF for the music phenomenon destroyers to balance it out and make it fair on both sides.
May you finally rest in peace, dear Amy. You swiflty conquered our hearts and inspired millions who are now saddened. Such a tragic waste of talent, beyond expressible phenomena.
